New Catholic Primary School for Huntly

Our story begins here

St Thomas Aquinas is the newest Catholic primary school in the Sandhurst Diocese and the first of its kind for the fast-growing Huntly. Our school is purpose-built to deliver high-quality, affordable education for local families. Construction is planned for 2026, with Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 opening in 2027 and staged growth to a full primary cohort by 2031. A generous 5.66-hectare site and a future early learning centre, means room to learn, play and belong.

A new chapter for Catholic education

Built with and for Huntly families

St Thomas Aquinas is being shaped with the Huntly community at its heart. Leading the way is our inaugural Principal, Paul Wilkinson, a Catholic educator of more than 30 years. Mr Wilkinson begins in Term 1, 2026 to guide planning, recruit our foundation staff and partner with families ahead of opening in 2027. Set on a generous 5.66-hectare site which is located on a parcel of land abounding Pasley and Rennie streets in Huntly, our campus will grow in stages to a full F–6 primary school, thoughtfully planned for calm arrivals, inspiring learning spaces and strong community connection. Together, we’re building a place where children are known, families are welcomed and learning thrives.

We acknowledge and pay respect to the Dja Dja Wurrung Peoples, the original and ongoing custodians of the land upon which our school is situated. We commit to actively working alongside First Nations people for healing, reconciliation and justice. May we all stand tall, stand firm, grounded in truth, together as one.
